SEPT 17: Viggle Introduces Free MyGuy Fantasy Football Game for College Football
November 14th, 2012
Free fantasy football game gives its users real rewards like gift cards, movie tickets and more
NEW YORK, NY–(September 17, 2012) – Viggle(SM) (VGGL), the loyalty program for TV, recently announced MyGuy, a free fantasy football game for smart phones that works for both professional and college sports games. Now like never before, college football fans can share in fantasy sports with their favorite teams, game-by-game.
Viggle users check into the game on television and MyGuy recognizes which teams are playing. Viggle users make their picks and can sub them as often as they want during the game. The better their “guys” do, the more points the Viggle user gets to redeem for real rewards such as gift cards, movie tickets, music downloads and more.
“MyGuy brings next-gen fantasy sports to college football for the first time,” said Chris Stephenson, president of Viggle. “In the past, the fantasy experience has been restricted to pro football fans. We’ve listened to our users and taken it up a level, understanding college football is just as important – if not more – to many fans nationwide.”
Viggle launched in January 2012 and more than 1 million users have registered for the app. In addition to MyGuy, Viggle users can play along with Viggle LIVE after they check into a show and get points for answering trivia questions that are in sync with what is on the TV screen in front of them. Viggle users also get points for watching videos and engaging with ads within the app.
“Early user feedback is that fans love the social features of MyGuy, especially Smacktalk,” Stephenson added. ” The ability to switch players as the game plays out makes MyGuy instantly gratifying, without the 20+ week commitment!”
Viggle is a loyalty program for television that gives people real rewards for checking into the television shows they are watching. Available for Android, Apple iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®, Viggle automatically identifies the television shows its users are watching and awards them points when they check-in. Viggle users can redeem their points in the app’s rewards catalogue for items such as movie tickets, music, gift cards or they can convert them into charitable donations.
